Coordination
The Coordination activities are dedicated to catalyse the mutual coordination and the pooling of resources among the consortium of participants, with the aim of fostering a culture of cooperation between them. Coordination activities will also aim at spreading good practice, promoting common protocols and interoperability, encouraging complementarity and developing and maintaining common information systems, and stimulating the creation of distributed or virtual facilities.

Objectives
WP1
- To manage and to coordinate all project activities, ensuring timely delivery and high quality of results and products,
- To manage the contract and the financial reports and issues.
WP2
- Internal networking of all partners to monitor project progress and to share experiences and knowledge on the upgrading and operation of the SeaDataNet infrastructure,
- Internal monitoring of the operational functioning and performance of the SeaDataNet infrastructure with metrics to indicate operations, availability, disturbances, weak links, weak partner systems.
WP3
- Training of data managers and technicians of data centres in the operation of SeaDataNet services,
- Training in the uptake of upgraded standards and data management procedures and in the implementation and configuration of new infrastructure components,
- Bringing all data centres onto an equal footing.
WP4
- Local installation and testing of upgraded components for maintenance of metadata directories at data centres in an orderly transition from one operational system version to the next version,
- Central installation and testing of upgraded central metadata directories, for more efficient maintenance, cross relations, and interoperability,
- Making the infrastructure more robust and its directory services INSPIRE compliant,
- Upgrade older CSR entries to the V1 content model,
- Complete update of the EDIOS content in cooperation with EuroGOOS,
- Strengthening the contributions by national networks and in cooperation with related projects and initiatives.
WP5
- Local installation and testing of upgraded components for maintenance of CDI metadata, access to data and new data services (viewing, subsetting) at data centres in an orderly transition from one system version to the next version,
- Central installation and testing of the upgraded central CDI directory with harvesting mechanism, extended data access services for end-users as well as intermediate user communities, such as MCS, interoperability with INSPIRE and global initiatives such as IODE ODP and GEOSS,
- Informing and assisting the upgrading of data centres, additionally connected to SeaDataNet through related projects and initiatives, such as Geo-Seas, EUROFLEETS, Upgrade Black Sea SCENE, CaspInfo and ongoing EMODNet lots (e.g. hydrography, seabed mapping, geology, and chemistry) that are adopting the SeaDataNet infrastructure as their data management backbone infrastructure,
- Making the infrastructure more robust and operational,
- Opening access to additional data sets managed by new SeaDataNet data centres, such as ICES and UniHB (PANGAEA-MARUM).
WP6
- Undertaking promotional and dissemination activities to potential users and providers,
- Establishing SeaDataNet as the leading infrastructure for marine and ocean data management in Europe by promoting cooperations, and adoption of SeaDataNet standards, tools and services by national NODC networks, related projects, systems, and intermediary user communities,
- Establishing a model for sustained operation of SeaDataNet.
